Bible Innovation Lab runs multiple summer-program and community products. Analytics from those products are stored in one shared PostHog project and tagged with an app_id so we can tell products apart. This policy covers every app that sends events to that project, including:

New Bible Innovation Lab apps that use the same PostHog project are covered by this policy even if they are not yet listed above. You can also find many of our products on the Projects page.

Across our apps we use anonymous product analytics to understand usage and improve the products. We typically do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or other contact details through analytics alone.

When you use a covered app, we may process:

• An anonymous visitor ID stored in a first-party httpOnly cookie (_lp_aid), which is a random identifier (not your name or email)
• Which app you used (app_id), pages or screens you view, and basic navigation events
• Technical details such as browser user-agent and approximate location derived from IP address
• Optional product events each app defines (for example, starting a game or finishing a puzzle)
• Notifications (opt-in only): If you enable daily reminders in an app that offers them (for example Scripture Game Hub / the BIL Games mobile app), we may store a browser push subscription or a mobile device push token (Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android; Apple Push Notification service on iOS when enabled) linked to your anonymous visitor ID so we can send the puzzle reminders you requested. On the native app, local reminders can also fire on-device at a time you choose without contacting our servers. Turning reminders off in Settings removes the stored subscription or token when one was saved.

We do not use device fingerprinting. Apps built on our shared launchpad send analytics through a first-party endpoint rather than loading a client-side PostHog SDK in your browser.

We use analytics data to:

• See which apps and features people use
• Measure whether people return (for example, day-2 retention)
• Compare products in aggregate (using app_id) so we can improve the program overall
• Improve content, design, and product decisions
• Deliver opt-in notification reminders you enabled (for example, that today's puzzle is out)

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use this analytics or notification data for advertising.

Analytics events are processed by PostHog, a product analytics platform. Our apps send events to the Bible Innovation Lab organization on PostHog Cloud. PostHog acts as a data processor on our behalf; Bible Innovation Lab is the data controller for the information described here.

When you opt in to remote push notifications on Android, delivery may use Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Other apps may also use hosting (for example Vercel), databases (for example Neon for hub accounts), and Bible text APIs (for example YouVersion) as described in each product's experience.

Events are sent to PostHog's US Cloud (us.i.posthog.com). You can read PostHog's own privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy and their guidance on analytics and privacy at posthog.com/docs/privacy.

Covered apps typically set a first-party anonymous ID cookie so we can tell repeat visits apart from new ones without identifying you personally:

• _lp_aid — random anonymous ID, httpOnly, approximately 2-year lifetime
• _lp_fv — short-lived signal used only to detect a first visit

These cookies are first-party (set by the app you are visiting), not third-party advertising cookies. Clearing site data for that domain in your browser will reset your anonymous ID for that app.

• Analytics that identify you by name or email by default
• Payment information via PostHog
• Session recordings or heatmaps as part of this standard setup
• Autocaptured form input values (our shared analytics path does not use PostHog autocapture)

• You can clear cookies and site data for any covered app's domain in your browser settings at any time.
• You can use browser controls or extensions that block analytics requests; our analytics endpoint is often first-party, so some blockers may still allow it.
• If you enabled daily reminders, you can turn them off in that app's Settings (or revoke notification permission in your browser or device system settings). Opting out removes a stored push subscription or device token when the app supports that path.
• If you want us to delete analytics data associated with your anonymous visitor ID across our PostHog project, contact us via Contact (Discord). Tell us which app(s) you used and roughly when, if you can. We will use PostHog's data deletion tools where applicable. See also PostHog's GDPR guidance.

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy as our apps or analytics practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. When we add new apps to the same PostHog project, they are covered by this policy.
